Teacher Evaluations Add Pressure

The best teacher evaluation system I can think of is to allow students and parents the right to leave any teacher they don’t like. Teachers will learn to be effective to keep their “clients” happy.

I heard that some public school teacher evaluations may include points for staying late, and coming to work early; but won’t this just send a message that doing your contractual duty is not good enough.  We live by the rule of law in our free country, so adding a measure to punish “sticking to your contract” by alternately giving an advantage to teachers that go above their contract, is sending the wrong message.

More on this later!
